Destiny 2 is an online multiplayer first person shooter video game developed by Bungie and published by Activision. It was released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 6, 2017, along with a PC version in the following month.
You play as a Guardian, Guardians are humans who’ve died before and now wield a power called the light which allows them to continuously be resurrected each time they die by their ghosts (floating robotic companions born from the death of the traveler) along with some other powers.
Guardians are the protectors of the last safe city and the remnants of humanity, they protect them from different alien races such as the cabal, fallen, hive, taken & vex. their powers were given to them by the traveler (giant mechanical orb that has power over life and death thought to be a god.).
One of these races, the Cabal, led by the warlord Dominus Ghaul, infiltrate the Last City and strips all Guardians of their Light which makes them stay dead. you then set out on a journey to regain your Light and find a way to defeat Ghaul and his Red Legion army and take back the Last City. Like the original Destiny, the game features expansion packs which further the story and adds new content and missions. Year One of Destiny 2 featured 2 small expansions, Curse of Osiris in December 2017 and Warmind in May 2018. A third, large expansion, Forsaken, was released in September 2018, beginning Year Two with an overhaul on game-play.
